The tire casing, rim and covering were stolen from the new Ford of Mr. Nutt, and three inner tubes were stolen from the rear of the Forsyth car. Francis (Potter) Anderson, a resident of Dorothy Love Retirement Community, is closely watching developments leading up to the Nov. 6 election, especially in regard to county issue four which would generate funds for the construction of a new jail. Mrs. Anderson, who holds the distinction of being the first Miss Sidney to reign over a festive parade, lived in the jail building while her first husband, William C. Dilbone, served as Shelby County Sheriff. “At the time I thought the whole experience was rather frightening. Now I consider it a rather interesting part of my life. Life in a jail is rather different than living in a home without bars and a continual stream of captive guests.” During her eight years as jail matron, she planned menus assisted with the cooking and supervised cleaning of the kitchen. She also helped the cook slide well laden trays through the “grub hole” in a wide iron door to hungry prisoners waiting on the other side.

It is a season that comes along, once in a lifetime if you are real lucky .The Reds can talk forever more about the season their team led from wire-to-wire and incredibly swept the Oakland Athletics in the World Series.
