WAPAKONETA — The Auglaize County Public District Library System is introducing new, family-friendly technology at the six county public libraries in December.

Thanks to the generosity of Arby’s of Wapakoneta, each location will now offer digital family play time. Arby’s has donated 24-inch, Nabi Big Tab touchscreen tablets to be made available to the public in each library location throughout the county including Wapakoneta, Cridersville, Minster, New Bremen, New Knoxville and Waynesfield.

The tablets have five activities on them. Digital Story Time includes dozens of interactive ebooks that make storytelling fun and engaging. Two Play delivers classic two-player games including checkers, chess and tic-tac-toe. Game Room provides multi-player digital board games and arcade-like games such as air hockey. Show Time allows people to watch their favorite collections of TV shows and videos from Disney and Cartoon Network. Big Canvas is a powerful suite of drawing, animation, video editing and publishing apps. In kid-safe Nabi Mode, kids have complete access to parent-approved apps, games and content. The Big Tab is the most comprehensive kid’s solution in a family-sized tablet. Blue Morpho OS on Big Tab gives more than 400 kid-focused and parent approved features. The 24-inch Android tablet is so big that no matter how big a family may be, there’s plenty of room for everyone to gather around.
