MINSTER — The Minster Lady Wildcats used all free throws in overtime to move past New Knoxville and win a 39-36 thriller in Midwest Athletic Conference girls basketball action Thursday night.

The Lady Wildcats are now 2-0 in the MAC and 3-0 overall going into a game at St. Henry Thursday. New Knoxville is 0-1 in the league and 2-2 overall and plays at Lehman Saturday.

The two teams were deadlocked at 33 after regulation. In the overtime, Minster did not have a field goal, but got to the line eight times and hit six of them to pull out the win.

Lindsey Roetgerman led Minster with nine and Courtney Prenger and LeAnn Huelsman added eight apiece.

For Knoxville, Kenzie Schroer had 14 and Abby Lageman added 10.

Bremen 46, Versailles 35

NEW BREMEN — New Bremen evened its overall record at 2-2 and opened MAC play with a win, beating the Versailles Lady Tigers 46-35 in action at New Bremen Thursday.

The loss was the third in the last four games for the Lady Tigers.

Versailles started out well, pouring in 18 first-quarter points, 12 of those coming from Danielle Winner.

However, New Bremen stayed right with the Lady Tigers and it was just a one-point game after one. And from that point on, the Lady Cardinals allowed Winner just two more points.

Bremen outscored Versailles 7-4 in the second quarter for a two-point lead at the half, then had a strong third quarter, outpointing the Lady Tigers 15-5 to open it up to 39-27 after three periods.

Alyse Clune hurt Versailles from long range, hitting four three-pointers on her way to 14 points for the game. Paige Jones added 12 for the Lady Cardinals.

Bremen sank seven threes in the game.

Winner finished with 14 to lead Versailles.
