Lady Jackets move up in D-1 poll

The Sidney Lady Jackets, who wrapped up a league title last week, moved up one spot in this week’s Associated Press Girls State Basketball Poll, voted on by a panel of writers and broadcasters.

The Lady Jackets, 20-0 going into a home game tonight against Troy, moved up from No. 4 to No. 3 in the Division 1 rankings, trailing only No. 1 Wadsworth and No. 2 Lakota West.

Meanwhile, in D-3, Anna dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 after its loss to Fort Loramie, and in D-4, both Loramie and Minster moved up two spots.

Minster went from No. 8 to No. 6 after beating second-ranked Arlington last week. Arlington remained No. 2 despite the loss.

And Loramie moved up two spots to No. 8 after beating Anna.

Boys

In the AP boys rankings for this week, the Jackson Center Tigers and the Russia Raiders, who meet Friday night in a huge County game, both moved up in D-4..

Jackson Center, 16-2 on the year, moved up two spots to fourth, and Russia, 16-3, also moved up two spots from 13th to 11th in this week’s poll.

They meet Friday night at Russia.
