SIDNEY — More than 5,000 Sidney residences were without power for 40 minutes Monday.

According to a spokesperson for DP&L, a wire broke on a transformer in a field off of Interstate 75 between Sidney and Anna. The power went out at 12:27 p.m. and power was restored at 1:06 p.m.

Crews on the scene, said the spokesperson, didn’t know what had caused the wire to break.
