Swiger rolls 30th perfect game

Longtime Sidney bowler Dan Swiger rolled a perfect 300 game recently in the Major League at Bel-Mar Lanes.

It was the 30th perfect game for Swiger in a career that has spanned four decades.

Swiger also had games of 246 and 213 preceding the 300, and that added up to a 759 series. He is now averaging 225.

Bel-Mar has now had 17 300 games this season.

• Meanwhile, Bethany Pellman became the first woman to roll a 700 series this season. She bowled games of 244, 180 and 278 for a 702 series. The 278 she rolled is also a season high for the ladies.

Pellman is averaging 200 in the Sunday Morning Trio League.

• In youth bowling, Alex Hix fell just two pins shy of perfection with a 298 game during the Junior Boys-Girls League on Saturday mornings. He left the dreaded 7-10 split on his final ball.

He is now averaging 214.

• Sixth-grader Kaden Abbott rolled the first 700 series of his young career last Saturday morning. He had games of 256, 223 and 256 for an impressive 735 series. His average continues to climb, and he is now at 171.
