Watercolor show at library

SIDNEY — The 38th annual Ohio Watercolor Society Art Exhibition opens today in the art gallery of the Amos Library, 230 E. North St., and will be on display through April 1.

During the run of the exhibit, $10 and $20 Sidney/Shelby County Chamber gift certificates will be awarded as door prizes. People who view the exhibit can register for the drawing.

The gold medal winner this year is Raymond Lillback, of Mentor. Ted Lawson, of Canton, is the silver medal winner, and bronze medal winner is Ted Vassar, of Palmyra, Michigan. Other award winners are Jerri Ellis Platt, of Columbus, Thomas Schroeder, of Cincinnati, Billie Richards, of Kirtland, Yuki Hall, of Beavercreek, Sandy Maudlin, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Christine Misencik-Bunn, of Fredericktown, Trish Mckinney, of New Carlisle, Sally Ford-Lyles, of Westerville, Jeanette Dean Dejesus, of Geneva, Frederick C. Graff, of Medina, Thomas Sorrell, of Sylvania, and Nancy Stewart Matin, of Canton.

Many of the paintings are for sale and a portion of the purchase price benefits the library.

“We are very glad to host the 38th annual Ohio Watercolor Society’s exhibition,” Suzanne Cline, library director, said, “It is a wonderful opportunity for our community. Everyone is invited to stop in and experience the work of these extremely talented individuals.”

Amos Library is handicap accessible and the display is free. It is open to the public Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
