ANNA — On March 4, 5, and 6, the Anna High School Drama Club will present Fiddler on the Roof.
This international stage sensation tells the life-affirming story of Tevye, a poor milkman whose love, pride and faith help him face the oppression of turn-of-the century czarist Russia. In his village, Tevye struggles to balance a changing world with the traditions of the past. As his five daughters seek to find husbands, Tevye is faced with difficult decisions. Can his daughter be married to a man without being set up by a matchmaker? Can he let his daughter marry a man who is a radical and thinks that his traditions are outdated? Can he let his daughter marry a man who is not of his faith?
The audience will hear songs like Tradition, Sunrise Sunset, Matchmaker, Sabbath Prayer, If I Were a Rich Man, To Life, and Miracles of Miracles.
Performances will be in Milliette Auditorium at Anna High School on Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5, at 7 p.m. On March 6, the matinee performance will begin at 2 p.m. Prices are $8. Please call the Anna High School office to reserve your tickets at 937-394-2011.
