FAIRFIELD — Stacy Renee Starr, of Fairfield, and Curtis Edward Schafer, of Russia, have announced their engagement and plans to marry April 16, 2016, in the St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michelle and Ray Starr, of Fairfield. She graduated from Badin High School in 2007 and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College in 2012 with an Associate of Applied Science in surgical technology. She is employed as a surgical technologist.

Her fiance is the son of Ola and Michael Schafer, of Russia. He is a 2003 graduate of Russia High School, a 2007 graduate of the University of Evansville, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history, and a 2009 graduate of Kent State University, where he earned a Master of Library and Information Science. He is employed as a librarian.
