Food drive, prom sales success

To the editor:

A couple so Saturday’s ago, The FISH Thrift Shop/Food Pantry had two exciting events at our shop. That morning the Boy Scouts held their annual food drive. This year we were fortunate enough to receive more food then we have ever received before. These scouts are a wonderful group of young men that will soon grow up to become the leaders of our community. They not only delivered our food, they unpacked it and put it in the designated areas, saving us so much extra work. Their families and scout leaders have done a great job guiding these boys to become responsible citizens!

In the afternoon, we held our first annual prom gown party. We had put the word out that we needed good formals for this event and we were rewarded with a great response from the community. We had some beautiful short and long dresses for the girls to choose from. We sold these dresses for $10 each to ensure all girls could afford to attend this special event at their school. It was so rewarding when we saw a girl find that special dress. Prom season is just starting and we still have a large supply of beautiful gowns available.

We want to sincerely thank the community for their continued support of FISH. You are the best.

Sincerely,

Becky Gillman

FISH President
