SIDNEY — Linda Meininger, Shelby County treasurer, has been elected to the Shelby County United Way Board of Trustees and the POWER Advisory Council beginning April 1, 2016.

Meininger, a resident of Sidney, Ohio, will be a liaison between the United Way Board and the POWER Advisory Council providing insight and opportunities in the areas of volunteering, funding and impact, in addition to communicating current community needs. Meininger is a graduate of Sidney High School. She is a current board member and past president of CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates. She is a past board member of the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA and currently serves on their childcare and scholarship committees. She volunteers for Raise the Roof for the Arts.

“I have known Linda for many years and am thrilled she has agreed to serve the United Way Board and the POWER Advisory Council,” said Scott Barr, executive director of the Shelby County United Way. “She has served on United Way Partner Agencies and understands the impact the United Way makes in our community.”

Shelly Ginter, POWER Advisory Chair adds “What a great display of collaboration. Having a shared position on our United Way Board and the POWER Advisory Council, Linda will be able to help POWER identify mission based opportunities and needs in Shelby County. Linda is a wonderful person and I’m excited to get to work directly with her.”

The Shelby County United Way mission is to continually identify, evaluate, and make possible the human services needed in the community. POWER’s mission is to build a powerful force of philanthropists who develop financial resources, united in service and are advocates for programs and initiatives that benefit children and their families in Shelby County.
