Short awarded OSCH scholarship

WORTHINGTON — The Ohio Soybean Council Foundation (OSCF) has awarded Kara Short, of Conover, Ohio, a $1,500 undergraduate OSCF scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year.

This is the ninth year for the OSCF Scholarship Program, which was created to encourage undergraduate students to pursue degrees in one of the many academic fields that support the future of the soybean industry including agriculture, business, communication, economics, education, science and technology, as well as to support ongoing graduate-level research.

“Congratulations to the 2016-17 OSCF scholarship recipients,” said Amy Sigg Davis, OSC board member, soybean farmer from Warren County and scholarship selection committee member. “The students are extremely bright and will no doubt make an impact on the Ohio soybean industry in the future. OSCF is very pleased to honor these outstanding students.”

Short is studying agronomy at Wilmington College and will be a senior in the fall of 2016. She is a member of Wilmington’s Agronomy Club, Aggies & Collegiate 4-H, Delta Tau Alpha National Honor Society, Fairlawn FFA, Fairlawn National Honor Society, Fairlawn Student Council, Psi Beta Omega Sorority, Wilmington’s volleyball team and Trail Riders. In addition, she worked at B&B Ag-Vantages Inc. from January 2010 tp August 2015.
