SIDNEY — Anytime Fitness, 2016 Michigan St., has new owners.
Jeff O’Mara, of Rushville, Indiana, and Blake Holland, of Oxford, recently purchased the franchise for the gym, which celebrateda grand re-opening and ribbon cutting Tuesday.
“We’re expanding and this was in our market,” O’Mara said.
“We drove through Sidney and felt there was a need for service to Sidney,” O’Mara said when asked why he acquired the business. He owns other Anytime Fitness franchises and said he bought his first one after he had been a member for two years.
“I owned a gas station and cooked a lot of fried foods,” he said. “I went to (Anytime Fitness) and after a couple of years, I felt so much better.”
After he bought his second gym franchise, he sold the gas station. Now, he wants health club members to feel comfortable when they go into Anytime Fitness. The new owners have renovated the local facility and added personal training options to members. They have increased the the number of employees by four people.
During initial visits, staff will listen to what people want to accomplish with a membership, develop a workout plan and then make it creative.
“You don’t want to have to do the same thing day after day,” O’Mara said. There are various plan options and fees are determined by what a member chooses to include. Once a plan is purchased, a member has access to the gym 24 hours a day.
“You can try it out for seven days on us,” O’Mara said. “Like kicking tires on a car, we want it to be a good fit.”
