MINSTER — Nidec Minster Corporation has recently become an official participant in the U.S. Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program.

The PaYS program is a strategic partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross section of corporations, companies, and public sector agencies. PaYS soldiers are guaranteed a job interview and possible employment after the Army with their chosen PaYS partner.

During a recent ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Jason Kerr, commander of the U.S. Army, Cleveland Recruiting Battalion, and Steve Gruber, president and COO of Nidec Minster, signed the agreement to make Nidec Minster the 573rd PaYS partner.

The ceremony, held at Nidec Minster’s Customer Education Center, included a U.S. Army color guard, members of the Minster village government, the Nidec Minster Executive Committee and several current Nidec Minster employees who are also veterans.

PaYS is a unique program designed to prepare, train, and connect soldiers to future employers. The program not only guarantees a job interview, but also enables soldiers to gain leadership, valuable technical skills, and experience.

“We are honored to be a partner in this program and provide a benefit to those who have served our country,” Gruber said. “This program is a nice fit for our company, because we know with applicants from the U.S. Army, we are getting individuals who are dedicated, dependable, disciplined, and willing to work in a team environment — which are the traits Nidec Minster desires in all its employees.”

U.S. Army Public Affairs Specialist Marie Haberstroh said the Army benefits by gaining valuable industry partners who acknowledge the Army as a quality producer of skilled employees. PaYS also provides an incentive for the Army to recruit, high quality men and women and reconnect America with its Army.
