To the editor:

We invite you to join us for this year’s Prayer on the Square and Community Prayer Breakfast events as we come together Remember(ing) Our Roots, acknowledging that God Has (surely) Not Forgotten. Gathering as community, praying together, remembering from what and where we’ve come from; honoring our past by not ignoring where we may have failed or chose wrongly as a community of yesteryear but rather determining to set our hearts toward God and together seek Him on how best to work together, live together in unity, supporting one another and praying for each other and for the families that make up our city and county. In doing this, we will have the wisdom needful to navigate the difficult issues that touch all of our lives. Let us glean from where we’ve come and at the same time set our focus, together as a community of believers, on our faithful God. Prayer on the Square is scheduled for Thursday May 5, at noon on the Shelby County Court House lawn. The Community Prayer Breakfast is May 7 at 10 a.m. at Christian Academy Schools, 2151 W. Russell Road in Sidney. Remember Our Roots – God Has Not Forgotten.
