Republicans re-elect Ehemann

SIDNEY — Julie Ehemann, of Anna, was re-elected chairman of the Shelby County Republican Central Committee during a recent meeting.

Other officers elected were Lance Symonds, executive vice chairman; Robert Luckey, chairman; Joel Knouff, vice chairman; Aaron Heilers, treasurer and Chris Gibbs, secretary.

Several people joined the Central Committee, each representing a voting precincts in the county. They are Lynne Papenfuss, Doug Jackson, Rob Joslin, Joe Geuy, Sanna Hill-Aiken, Nathan Lotz, John Lenhart, Dale Goubeaux, Patrick Goldschmidt, Lola Billiel and Robert Livermore.

Ehemann is currently serving her second term as a Shelby County commissioner, serves on the County Commissioners Association of Ohio Executive Board, and is vice president of the Shelby County Animal Rescue Foundation. She is a graduate of Ohio Northern University with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and lives in Anna with her husband, Kurt.

Symonds is a graduate of Jackson Center High School and resides in Botkins with his wife, Kim. He serves on the Botkins Village Council and works for the Baumfolder Corp. in Sidney.

Luckey, a graduate of Houston High School, studies business management, and lives in Sidney with his wife and their five children. Luckey, who works in management for Walmart, has served in several roles assisting both the local and the state Republican Party.

Knouff graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and works in quality control. He serves on a local board of education and is married to his wife, Susan.

Heilers lives with his wife and two children in Anna, where they have a grain farm and wine-grape vineyard. He is the project manager for the Blanchard River Demonstration Farms Network.

Gibbs serves as chairperson of the Shelby County Board of Elections where he has served eight years, is the current president of the Gateway Arts Council and chairman of the Ohio Israeli Agricultural Initiative Advisory Committee. He owns and operates a cash grain and cow calf operation in Maplewood.
