Wilson Foundation ball a success

SIDNEY —The Wilson Health Foundation celebrated the 22nd ball with a “Whimsical Night” at the Crystal Room in Troy with 120 guests in attendance.

Including the 2016 proceeds of more than $33,500, more than $656,000 from this annual event has been raised for the Wilson Health Foundation’s general endowment fund to provide funding for capital equipment and patient-care needs.

Bonnie Faulkner, executive director of the Wilson Health Foundation, welcomed guests to the event and recognized Deanna Kindell, Wilson Health Foundation coordinator; Tom Boecker, former president and CEO of Wilson Memorial; and her husband, Harry Faulkner, for their help, support and encouragement during her career at Wilson.

Tonya Thieman, chairwoman of the Wilson Health Foundation Board, said, “In 2015, total foundation revenue of nearly $743,000 was achieved. This figure included $394,000 raised through fundraisers and donations and nearly $350,000 from income on our investments. We presently have $8.4 million in the foundation’s endowment fund toward a goal of $50 million. To date, over $14.6 million has been raised exclusively by the foundation to benefit Wilson Health. It is important to recognize that both the foundation board and the hospital board work together to ensure that Wilson Health continues to provide comprehensive, quality health care for our community.”

Mark Dooley, president and CEO of Wilson Health, recognized Bonnie Faulkner for her many years of service to Wilson Health Foundation as its first executive director for nearly 19 years and noted some of her accomplishments and state-wide involvement.

Harry Faulkner won four tickets and a parking pass for a Pacers game. David Andrick and Cyndy Emerson placed the winning bid for a wine cooler and a variety of wines. A “stock the bar” package including a variety of liquors and barware went to Ken and Mary Beth Monnier. Mark and Shelly Dooley were the successful bidders for the murder mystery dinner for eight. Stan Evans and Harry Faulkner were each the lucky winners of $1,000 gift certificates from Harris Jeweler

Winners of this year’s raffle prizes were Paul and Christie Dentinger, one week in a condominium anywhere in the world at a Resort Condominiums International affiliate; Keith and Jana Schnippel, four Disney one-day hopper passes; Dr. Frank and Lisa Fumich, two Grand Patron tickets to the 2017 Wilson Health Foundation Ball.

This year’s ball committee were Scarlet Francis, Melissa McDonald, Beth Roe, Jackie Simpson and Kiera Sullivan.
