MINSTER — A Minster woman died in a fire early Saturday morning at her residence.
Janet D. Luthman, 78, of Minster, was found in one of the rooms in her Garfield Street home and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Minster-Jackson Township Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of the fire in the 200 block of Garfield Street at 1:37 a.m. Saturday. The house was engulfed in flames when the firefighters arrived on the scene. Flames were seen coming through the roof.
More than 30 firefighters were on the scene until 9:30 a.m. New Bremen Township Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
The house was a total loss.
The fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
