PIQUA — The Adult Basic Literacy and Education Director at Upper Valley Career Center, Dr. Peg Morelli, was awarded the State Administrator of the Year award by the Ohio Association for Adult and Continuing Education during the State Conference Scholarship and Awards Luncheon in Columbus on April 18.

Morelli was selected for the honor based on her leadership abilities, advocacy, professionalism, and the expansion of services offered by the ABLE program.

“I am honored to be the recipient of this award,” Morelli said. “I am here today because of the support of dedicated program staff and knowledgeable state staff. They are the driving force behind the success of the program. I thank them for all they do to help meet the needs of our community.”

Morelli has been Upper Valley Career Center ABLE Director since 2007. Prior to that time she served as the Assistant Dean of Student Services and Enrollment at Rhodes State College in Lima and has served in the community college setting in Colorado.

Superintendent of Upper Valley Career Center Dr. Nancy Luce expressed her appreciation of Morelli’s achievement.

“Dr. Morelli has provided the leadership to create a successful ABLE program. She is passionate about the services and opportunities that ABLE provides and consistently focuses on the needs of her students and staff,” Luce said.
