Sidney man indicted for heroin overdose death

SIDNEY — A Sidney man was indicted by the Shelby County grand jury on Thursday for his part in an overdose death in January.

Samuel Millbourn, 21, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony.

According to court records, he is accused of “On or about Jan. 20, 2016, … he sold Dezmon Retterer heroin, which resulted in Retterer’s heroin overdose death.”

In addition to the involuntary manslaughter charge, he was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

According to court records on or about March 29, he is accused of possessing “Fentanyl, a Schedule II controlled substance” and “capsules, a baggie, and a syringe used for abusing Fentanyl.”

The Shelby County grand jury also handed up several other formal indictments Thursday morning:

• Robert Benshoff II, 44, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of illegal use of supplemental nutrition or WIC program benefits, a fifth-degree.

• Justina Boggs, 24, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of vandalism, a fifth-degree felony.

• Joshua Bruggeman Jr., 19, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony.

• Derrick Cornett, 23, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony.

• Mackenzie Counts, 23, of Anna, was indicted on two counts of breaking and entering, fifth-degree felonies, and two counts of burglary, third-degree felonies.

• Thomas Diodorou, 38, of Flat Rock, Michigan, was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of a detention facility, a fourth-degree felony.

• Lindsay Haynes, 28, of Bellbrook, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

• April Hecht, 31, of Sidney, was indicted on two counts of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony.

• Dion Hunter, 32, of Detroit, Michigan, was indicted on one count of identity fraud, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Andrew Kaiser, 24, of Minster, was indicted on four counts of forgery and two counts of identity fraud, all fifth-degree felonies.

• Zoey Kellem, 18, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Randall Landis, was indicted on one count of trafficking in drugs, a third-degree felony, one count of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Ronald Lewis, 42, of Sidney, was indicted on two counts of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, fifth-degree felonies.

• Christian Manor, 22, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felonies.

• Travis Meeks, 40, of Lakeview, Ohio, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies, and one count of driving under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanour.

• Benjamin Rains, 31, of Anna, was indicted on two counts of breaking and entering, fifth-degree felonies, and two counts of burglary, third-degree felonies.

• James Reynolds Jr., 29, of Southfield, Michigan, was indicted on one count of identity fraud, one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies, and one count of driving under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanour.

• Brooke Schutte, 21, at large, was indicted on one count of endangering children, a third-degree felony.

• Samantha Striff, 19, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of theft, a fifth-degree felony.

• James Varno, 48, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Courtney Vaughn, 25, of Sidney, was indicted on two counts of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, fifth-degree felonies.

• Adam Vestal, 32, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of a detention facility, a fourth-degree felony.

• Winchester Wiley, 30, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs, and one count of possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

• Chad Wilson, 41, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of theft, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of forgery, a fifth-degree felony.

A group arraingment is scheduled in Shelby County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday, June 15, at 2 p.m.
