Cemetery tour showcases ‘Intrepid Women of Shelby County’

Shelby County Historical Society Secretary Rich Wallace, left, and Board of Trustees member Linda DeVelvis, right, of Sidney, take turns giving a tour of Graceland Cemetery Thursday, June 16. The 17th Annual Tour held by the Shelby County Historical Society was focused this year on “Intrepid Women of Shelby County.” Visitors learned that in the early 1800’s women didn’t just have to worry about higher rates of mortality giving birth but they also had to worry about being murdered by Native Americans.
