WAPAKONETA — The Wapakoneta Police Department is investigating a report of a man being hit by a train Monday morning.

Officers and emergency personnel from the Wapakoneta Fire Department responded to the CSX railroad in the are of the train depot just north from AugIaize Street in regard to a report of someone being hit by a train. The male was discovered lying beside the tracks by a citizen.

A 36-year-old male from Wapakoneta was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center by Wapakoneta EMS for injuries sustained.

It is unknown exactly when this incident occurred and the incident remains under investigation.
