SIDNEY — A Sidney woman was arrested and charged with drug possession after a search warrant was served Wednesday morning.

According to the Sidney Police Department, Lashawn M. Hazel, 45, 2400 Wapakoneta Ave., Lot 13, Sidney, was charged with one found of possession of heroin, a 5th degree felong. She is being held at the Shelby County Jail.

Around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, investigators and officers from the Sidney Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at the Wapakoneta Avenue residence. Recovered during the search were heroin, paraphernalia and syringes.

This warrant execution is a continuing effort by the Sidney Police Department to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking in Sidney. Information resulting in this warrant was derived in part from concerned citizens.
