MINSTER — JTD Hospital Foundation held its 24th Annual Golf Classic at Arrowhead Golf Club in Minster, Ohio on Sept. 9.
“We are so appreciative of the strong support from our community, sponsors, and volunteers for this event,” Linda Haines, executive director of the foundation said.
The day started with the annual Golf Ball Drop. Golfers witnessed Schmiesing Tree Service of New Bremen drop the numbered balls from their 60 foot bucket truck. Three balls fell equally close to the hole, so a 2nd “drop” was performed. Only one ball fell closest to the hole. That numbered ball matched a ticket number held by the Lab Employees from JTDMH. The 50/50 split for the Golf Ball Drop was $2,185 and Lab employees made the very generous decision to donate their winnings back to the JTD Hospital Foundation.
A shotgun start at 9:30 a.m began the 18-hole scramble with 114 golfers registered to play. Snacks, sandwiches and beverages were served on the golf course followed by a selection of heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks at the end of the day.
2016 Tournament Champions were Matt Otto, Steve Boroff, Phil Schumann, and Scott Ross. 2016 Co-Ed Champions were Diane and Tom Meyer, and Eunice Ernst and Mike Ernst. 2016 Women’s Champions were Diane Schielshott, Susan Clune, Mary Stueve, and Vicki Schwartz.
JTD Hospital Foundation is the fundraising arm of Joint Township Hospital. Proceeds from this event are used to help support Joint Township District Memorial Hospital’s efforts to meet the health care needs of the communities.
