1 arrested following narcotics search

SIDNEY — On Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at approximately 9 a.m., investigators and officers from the Sidney Police Department and Piqua Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at 750 Broadway Ave., Sidney.

Recovered during the search were over two pounds of marijuana, three hands guns, a shotgun, and money. As a result of the search warrant, police arrested Nicholas L. Wood, 37, who resides at the residence.

Wood has been charged with one count of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the second-degree, and one count of weapons under disability, a felony of the third-degree.

Wood is currently incarcerated at the Shelby County Jail.

This warrant execution is a continuing effort by the Sidney Police Department to combat drug abuse and drug trafficking in Sidney. Information resulting in this warrant was derived in part from concerned citizens.
