Veterans to be honored on Friday

SIDNEY — The city of Sidney will hold its annual Veteran’s Day ceremony downtown on the northwest corner of courtsquare Friday morning, Nov. 11, on Veteran’s Day, at 11 a.m.

The guest speaker will be U.S. Air Force Veteran Jim Moorman with retired U.S Marine Corps Lt. Chuck Craynon as the master of ceremony.

To honor all veterans, Shelby County Commissioners and Sidney Mayor Mike Barhorst will participate, along with a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by a local school choir, the American Legion Fire Squad and the playing of “Taps.”

The public is invited to attend. Following the ceremony, there will be free beans and cornbread for members of the VFW and American Legion posts.
