QUINCY — Delinquent utility users and the new rate increase were discussed during the November meeting of Quincy Village Council.

The rate increase went into effect Dec. 1, 2016, with the first billing being done in January 2017. Utility bills run a month after use. The council will be working to get all accounts up to date prior to this rate increase.

Council agreed to again joint the Logan County Chamber of Commerce for 2017 at a rate of $165 per year.

Council approved two resolutions to enter into an agreement with Affordable Gas and Electric to find the best rates for residents of the Village of Quincy for electric service and appoint Mayor Daniel Robinson to sign all necessary documents to purchase this electric at the best rates for all wishing to participate.

A communication tower is being proposed by the CSX Railroad. This tower will be placed at the railroad crossing. A zoning permit will be necessary for this project to move forward.

Council discussed placement of a digital sign at the Finfrock Park to notify everyone of events in the Village and at theQuincy Community building. Several factors need to be considered from the cost of the sign, how and where it should be mounted, and if it should be one or two sided. Further information is being researched.
