Pro-life speech contest planned

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Right to Life pro-life speech contest will be Monday, Feb. 20, (President’s Day) at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney at 6:30pm.

The contest is open to high school juniors and seniors. Each participant will prepare and present a 5to 7 minute speech on one of the following topics: abortion, infanticide, euthanasia or stem cell research. The contest is open to Shelby County residents or students attending a Shelby County high school.

Cash awards go to the first three places. The winner will receive $300 and advance to the state contest on Saturday, April 29, in Columbus, with the chance to continue to the national contest on July 1 in Wisconsin.
