To the editor:

On Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, the most exciting event happened in Botkins, Ohio. The Botkins High School hosted the Shelby County Special Olympics basketball team.

A team of Botkins boys played a team of Special Athletes. It was a wonderful time of sportsmanship and fun.

The Botkins parents should be very proud of their children that cheered, sang and played ball. Thanks to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Color Guard for presenting the flag.

What a time of sharing and caring. I don’t believe anyone came away without a smile.
