Victoria Theatre Association announces 2017-2018 line-up

DAYTON — Victoria Theatre Association (VTA)has announced the 2017-2018 Premier Health Broadway Series, Projects Unlimited Star Attractions, the Morris Furniture Company Family Series, and National Geographic Live Series, sponsored by Winsupply and The Win Family of Companies.

“Our 2017-2018 Season of the Premier Health Broadway Series brings some hot new titles,” says Ken Neufeld, VTA president and CEO. “Current Broadway hits ‘An American in Paris,’ ‘Beautiful — the Carole King Musical’ and ‘Something Rotten’ are on the season, along with the spectacular new production of ‘The Phantom of the Opera,’ a beautiful new revival of ‘The Sound of Music’ and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Tony Award-winning hit, ‘In the Heights.’”

“Our Morris Furniture Company Family Series includes fun family shows with ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins,’ ‘Journey to Oz’ and many more,” said Neufeld. “The National Geographic Live Series presentations are almost sold out each night. To meet the growing demand, we have added a second presentation on Sunday afternoons, so more of Dayton can enjoy an intimate look at our world through the eyes of National Geographic’s explorers, photographers, and filmmakers. Our Projects Unlimited Star Attraction Series includes Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘Mystic India — the World Tour,’ ‘The Illusionists Present Adam Trent,’ ‘A Christmas Story’ and the return of ‘A Christmas Carol.”

Performances in the Schuster Center will include “In the Heights” from Oct. 3 to Oct. 8; “An American in Paris” from Nov. 7 to Nov. 12; “The Sound of Music” from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15, 2018; “Something Rotten!” from March 20 to March 25, 2018; “The Phantom of the Opera” from April 11 to April 22, 2018; “Beautiful—the Carole King Musical” from May 22 to May 27, 2018; “Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’” from Aug. 8 to Aug. 13; “Mystic India: The World Tour” Oct. 26; and “The Illusionists Present ‘Adam Trent’” Dec. 3.

Performances in the Victoria Theatre will include “A Christmas Carol” Nov. 28 and 29; “A Christmas Story” from Dec. 12 to Dec. 17; “How I Became a Pirate” Nov. 4; “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” Jan. 20, 2018; “Step Afrika!” March 3; “Journey to Oz” April 7 and 8, 2018; and “The Olate Dogs Variety Show: Rescue Tour” May 5.

Renewal packets for all of current Premier Health Broadway Series season ticket holders have been mailed. The deadline for current season ticket holders to request changes to Broadway season ticket packages is March 13. The deadline to renew 2017-2018 Broadway season ticket packages is March 20. Season ticket sales for the Morris Furniture Company Family Series and National Geographic Live Series begin later in the spring, as well as new packages for the Projects Unlimited Star Attractions.
