SIDNEY — The Sidney-Shelby County Health Department has scheduled two solid-waste collection sites for April 8.

This community effort is being organized by the Health Department in partnership with township officials. Solid waste trucks will be made available by Health Department and township funds.

Kent Topp, director of environmental health for the Sidney-Shelby County Health Department, said solid waste trucks will be in Jackson Township at Rising Sun Express along state Route 65 in Jackson Center and in McLean Township in Lake Loramie State Park in the Daniels picnic area at the corner of Fort Loramie-Swanders Road and state Route 362 in Fort Loramie, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Shelby County residents may take solid waste items for disposal, such as large-item trash and junk. However, tires, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, batteries, yard waste and liquid items including herbicides and pesticides will not be accepted.
