O’Donnell to join OSU-Lima Alumni Hall of Fame

LIMA — The Ohio State University at Lima will induct Heather O’Donnell to its Alumni Hall of Fame at a ceremony beginning at 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Reed Hall. O’Donnell is the superintendent of the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center that serves schools in Hardin, Logan and Shelby counties. The program will also include a campus update and information about the Education Department, a signature program at Ohio State Lima.

Guests will get a sneak peak at the OSU Department of Fine Art Faculty Show at a reception beginning at 5 p.m. The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Reed Hall Lobby.

O’Donnell received her bachelor of science in education from Ohio State Lima in 1993, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She later received her MEd in Gifted Education and Curriculum from Wright State University as well as her supervisor’s certification, principal’s license and superintendent’s license.

She began her teaching career in 1993 with Sidney City Schools and then Bellefontaine City Schools before moving on to positions as the Gifted Intervention Specialist and Curriculum/Professional Development director with Benjamin Logan Schools and the Logan County Educational Service Center, respectively. By 2007, she was responsible for the Shelby County Educational Service Center as its superintendent, which later became known as the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center when it merged with Hardin and Logan Counties. The Midwest ESC comprises 13 school districts.

In addition to her professional duties, Heather has served on the Ohio Educational Service Center Association as its 2015-2016 president as well as various local boards including the Logan County United Way, the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and YMCA, the West Ohio Development Council, the Southern Ohio Information Technology Association and is a member of the Buckeye Association of School Administrators.
