Are you ready?

To the editor:

I heard a song recently on the radio by Tim McGraw called “Live Like You Were Dying.” It got me thinking maybe we should all live our lives like what that song is all about because in life there are no guarantees that any of us will see a tomorrow. Anyone can die at anytime.

The chances are that we will see a tomorrow. How many times have you heard about a vehicle accident in which someone died? This could have been you. Or heard someone say, “I just talked to them yesterday.”

We live each day in the same routines, but those routines can be interrupted by a sudden death. No matter your beliefs, we all will one day die. Now, concerning you, the question is, are you ready?

Have you lived your life in a way that you were put on this earth for? We all have a tendency to stray the other way. We are humans, and are like the automobile. We all need a tune-up, so ask God to be your mechanic and he will give you a tune-up in life.

It’s never too late to change one’s ways. Take it one step at a time without stepping backward. Remember learning to walk, riding that bike, driving that car? With a little help, you did it. God’s willing to help you now with life; just ask. Life is like a teeter tooter that we all remember. It gave us some ups and downs, but if you ask God to be on your teeter tooter, then your life can become a smoother ride on your teeter tooter.

We all have issues in life that needs attended to, but we need to attend to them now. Procrastinating is not an option. Ask God daily to help you ride that bike, drive that car and be on your teeter tooter of life.

When you have everything in order and your time has come, then the door will open and your past family and friends will welcome you. But first thing first. Sometimes when a close friend suddenly dies, it sends a bold message; one not to be ignored.

Easter will soon be here bringing a new beginning of life to all. Make that change now, if needed. For your tomorrow may never come, as also Easter. Wishing you many sunrises.
