SIDNEY — National Crime Victim Rights Week is April 2-8.

Locally, the Shelby County Victim Services agency will be honoring local victims this week. There will be a display on the east side of the Shelby County Courthouse, beginning April 2. The display will have 397 individual signs that will include the age, gender and type of victimization of each victim the Shelby County Victims Services worked with in 2016.

“We encourage the public to come down to the court square and take a moment to recognize all those victims we have worked with over the past year,” said Tiffany Kemp, director.

On Tuesday, April 4, the Shelby County Commissioners signed a proclamation for National Crime Victim Rights Week and presented it to the Shelby County Victim Services staff.
