ANNA — The Anna and Botkins United Methodist Churches will be putting on its second annual Palm Sunday program, to be held at the Anna United Methodist Church on April 9 at 2 p.m. There will be performances by the Botkins United Methodist and Anna United Methodist Children’s Choir and the adult Chancel Choir, which also includes members from the Anna and Botkins United Methodist churches.

The children will be performing a musical play titled “The Easter Tree.” In this play, a group of children go on a “hunt for Easter” using clues from scripture in their Bibles. On the way they discover the true meaning of Easter by realizing how important it is to have Jesus in our lives. Along with the play, the 38 member children’s choir will be performing six songs which include solos by 12 different talented singers.

Following the children’s play, the combined Chancel Choir of both churches will be performing an Easter cantata titled “Redeemed – the Timeless Story of Easter.” The song titles themselves tell the story, including such songs as: “Redeemed,” “I Am Your Salvation,” and “Risen from Eternal Death.”

The program is open to the public.
