Thank you to our local law enforcement

To the citizens of Sidney and Shelby County:

Last Wednesday evening I was sitting outside with my grandson enjoying the evening. Approximately 6:45 p.m., two police cruisers went speeding out of the city on state Route 47 east, with lights and sirens on. About 30 minutes later, a white car was speeding into the city with a police cruiser just behind and another patrol car to the left. Following this high speed chase were nine to 10 more state patrol, sheriff and Sidney police cars all in pursuit with lights and sirens on. I told my grandson I hoped none of them would crash down on the curve at the bridge. I’ve never seen that many officers in that large of a pursuit ever. It was scary. I found out later that Sheriff Deputy David Spicer used a defensive driving technique along with deflation devices deployed by the Sidney Police Department to stop fleeing vehicles.

We here in Sidney need to thank our local law enforcement and also the Ohio State Highway Patrol for putting their lives on the line each day. Saying thank you never hurt anyone.
