TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will offer two classes to enrich the curriculum of home-schooled students.

Students in Dawn Flory’s homeschool art classes will build a strong art education foundation, through a large variety of media and techniques. Students will learn about basic art design principles, as well as be exposed to art history, famous artists and art styles. Homeschool art classes meet Fridays. The fee is $9 per student per class.

Beginning Flute class with instructor Christina Roberts is a 12-week class for students in grades 5–12. This group class will meet Friday afternoons beginning Sept. 8. Students must register for this class by Sept. 1. Students are required to provide their own flutes, stands and books in addition to the $105 fee. Partial financial assistance is available for students who qualify. The instructor can answer any questions students may have about instruments or books. Budding flutists in this class will learn proper playing position, tone production and basic music-reading skills. No prior music experience is necessary. The class will conclude with a recital.
