SIDNEY — One person was arrested Thursday morning and charged with trafficking in drugs after the Sidney Police Department was notified of suspicious activity going on in and around a vehicle.
Ashley M. Hickman, 28, was taken into custody after officers arrived at the vehicle, which was parked on South Ohio Avenue near West Court Street. Officers arrived in the area around 9:09 a.m. and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle.
During the course of the investigation, approximately 1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine was located inside of the vehicle in addition to money, drug paraphernalia and other smaller amounts of legal and illegal drugs.
Hickman was transported to the Shelby County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in Sidney Municipal Court Monday morning.
The street value of the seized methamphetamine was approximately $3,000. Trafficking in drugs is a a felony of the first degree.
