SIDNEY — What a difference a year makes! The $4.85 million dollar facility expansion and renovation project on the Amos Memorial Public Library located in Sidney was completed in 2017,” said Executive Director Suzanne Cline. “The nearly 12,000 square foot addition is located to the north and includes new space for Children’s, Teen, Technology and Community. The project, which began in April, 2016, was mostly complete by mid-summer. The Library held a huge open house and business after hours in August, showcasing the newly finished project.

Shelby County Libraries Executive Director Suzanne Cline has been thrilled with the response from those visiting the facility.

“I couldn’t be happier with the results of the project. Ferguson Construction, Area Energy and Electric and Regal Plumbing did a fantastic job making sure the project remained on target. Visitors, and those utilizing the new spaces have offered nothing but positive comments.”

Her report continues:

The space provides a Community Room, with seating for up to 135, all new Teen space, a Technology lab and all new Children’s area. Also included in the newly expanded and renovated building is a STEM/Makerspace, new location for Genealogy, three small study rooms, a Conference Room, and a beautiful new Art Gallery.
