Anna Council completes routine business

ANNA — Anna Village Council completed routine business during its Feb. 27 meeting.

It postponed discussion of an ordinance that would amend its charter concerning zoning.

It gave third reading to an ordinance levying assessments for the Commerce Drive curb replacement and passed it unanimously.

It gave first reading to an ordinance concerning an agreement with Franklin Township about property taxes for an annexed parcel.

It passed a resolution supporting Ohio House Bill 163 and Senate Bill 72 exempting political subdivisions from prevailing wage law.

The council heard reports by village Administrator Wayne York concerning community reinvestment areas, public meetings scheduled for March 12 and March 15 about the sidewalk project, Christmas decorations and backflow preventer inspections; by Fiscal Officer Stacy Meyer concerning natural gas contracts and the 2015-2016 audit; by Councilwoman Cindy Naseman concerning water and sewer utilities going under Interstate 75 and street resurfacing; and by Councilman Gary Strasser concerning handicapped picnic tables for the park, funding for rides at Anna Fall-fest and a dog park.

It was noted that the community garage sale organizing committee has request funding for new signs.

The council then moved into executive session to discuss personnel and real estate annexation.
