TROY — The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main St., Troy, seeks entries from professional, amateur and student chalk artists for the “Chalk-on-the-Walk” community arts competition at its Art’s Alive at the Hayner festival, Aug. 4.

The Art’s Alive at the Hayner festival is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; however, artists may begin working at 9 a.m. on the east side of the Hayner Center. Chalk-on-the-Walk artists need to plan their compositions based on the theme, “Celebrating the Arts.” Judging will take place at 2:30 p.m. based on two classes: adults (18 and over) and students (14-17). In order to qualify for prizes and other awards, artists must register by July 23.
