Uber, Philbin show grand champion, senior champion Holsteins

LISBON — At times the rain came pouring down, however the spirits of those in attendance were definitely uplifted as they viewed the Holsteins parading the show ring at the Northeast Ohio District 1 and 2 Show held Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds, Lisbon, Ohio. Judge for the show was Chris Lahmers from Marysville, Ohio, director of marketing for COBA/Select Sires.

Taking home both the grand champion and senior champion rosettes in the open show was the winning aged cow, Gleann GW Relentless shown by Mike Uber and Vanessa Philbin, Mercer, Pennsylvania. The reserve grand champion and intermediate champion honors went to Oakfield Armani Smiley-ET, the winning junior three-year-old cow, also shown by Mike Uber and Vanessa Philbin.

The reserve senior champion in the open show was Quality-Quest Cinda-Red, second place aged cow shown by Grant Cope, Breezy Knoll Farm, Salem, Ohio. Honorable mention went to the four year old, Springhill-OH Miya-Red shown by Wyatt Kiko, R & P Kiko Farms, Salem, Ohio.

The reserve intermediate champion in the open show was the junior two-year-old cow, Kiko Atwood Diane shown by Elizabeth Kiko, R & P Kiko Farms, Salem, Ohio. Honorable Mention went to the 2nd place junior two-year-old, A-Logansway Armani Wanda, shown by Matthew Logan, Farmdale, Ohio.

Junior champion in the open show was the winter yearling, OCD Armani Fandango, owned by Mason Mazzaro, Williamsfield, Ohio. Reserve junior champion in the open show was the summer yearling, Beardsley Doorman Gessamine, shown by Jenneil Holsteins, Neil Deam and family, Sugarcreek, Ohio. Honorable Mention went to the winter calf, E-Kiko Beemer Suzane, shown by Evan Kiko, Paris, Ohio.

Grand champion and senior champion in the junior show was the four-year-old cow, Springhill-OH Miya-Red, shown by Wyatt Kiko, Salem, Ohio. Reserve grand champion and intermediate champion in the junior show was the junior two-year-old, Kiko Atwood Diane, shown by Elizabeth Kiko, Salem, Ohio.

Reserve senior champion in the junior show was the second place four-year-old cow, A-Logansway Shock Casey, shown by Zachary Logan, Farmdale, Ohio. Reserve intermediate champion in the junior show was the 2nd place junior two-year-old cow, A-Logansway Armani Wanda, shown by Matthew Logan, Farmdale, Ohio.

Junior champion in the junior show was the spring yearling, Lindlaur McCutch Starburst, shown by Lauren L’Amoreaux, Louisville, Ohio. Reserve junior champion in the junior show was the fall yearling, A-Logansway D-Back Sophia, shown by Zachary Logan, Farmdale, Ohio.

Premier breeder in the show was Logansway Holsteins, Farmdale, Ohio. Premier exhibitor was Mike Uber and Vanessa Philbin, Mercer, Pennsylvania. Best bred and owned of the show was the junior two-year-old, Kiko Atwood Diane, R & P Kiko farms, Salem, Ohio.

Ribbons and trophies were presented by Ohio Holstein Queen, Allison McCumons and Mahoning County Senior Dairy Princess, Claire Headland. Melissa Hart, Ohio Holstein News editor was the show photographer. Jim Ray was the ringman. A total of 88 registered Holsteins were shown.
