SIDNEY — The Shelby County Drug Task Force has launched drugfreeshelbycounty.org, a new website for the citizens of Shelby County to access for community resources and information related to substance use.

“We’ve listened to the Shelby County community and are very excited to launch drugfreeshelbycounty.org,” said Margo O’Leary, Shelby County Drug Task Force member representing Wilson Health. “Over the past year, the Task Force heard feedback that people don’t know where to start or where to go for help. This website is a one-stop shop packed full of helpful information for those struggling with substance use and addiction. It’s a great first stop for those wanting to learn about the different assistance options and resources available in our community.”

The Shelby County Drug Task Force works with members of the local community such as law enforcement, governmental agencies and leaders, health care, drug and alcohol treatment providers and faith-based organizations. There are several committees in which community representatives are involved.

“This new website derived from the Prevention and Education subcommittee of the Task Force,” said O’Leary. “We were fortunate to come together as a team and develop a site that is user-friendly and serves as an important resource for our community.”

The new website, drugfreeshelbycounty.org, is made possible through grant funding through The Community Foundation of Shelby County. Creative Marketing Strategies in Sidney helped design and develop the site.

“This new website is a true community collaboration,” said O’Leary. “We encourage online users to visit the site and share amongst their professional and personal connections. There is also a contact us feature where visitors can submit a question, comment or feedback.”
