The latest reports from Wisconsin are that 10 deer and three bears have fallen prey to the hungry hunters from Shelby county. John E. Bush claims the honor of killing two bears, while one bear is added to the trophies acquired by James Wilson in the great northwest.

Two electric cars, “City of Troy” and “City of Piqua” on the Miami Valley Electric railroad, connecting Piqua and Troy, collided yesterday afternoon. There was only slight damage to the cars and no one was injured.

Hon. Benjamin LeFevre, formerly of Shelby county, observed his 80th birthday at Atlantic City. A Civil War veteran, he served four terms in Congress from this district, and was also U.S. consul at Nuremburg, Germany, in addition to holding other offices.

Amsterdam reported today that peace riots have broken out in Berlin and mobs are marching through the streets shouting “Down with war,” “Down with the Kaiser and Hindenburg.

Approximately 6,000 new cases of influenza from new communities, have been reported to the state health department bringing the state total to more than 70,000.

Houston High school won the western half of the Shelby county baseball league yesterday afternoon by taking the measure of Russia by the score 22 to 2.

Mrs. Ora Berry, of Sidney, was elected noble Templar of District No. 1, Ladies of the Golden Eagle, at the 53rd anniversary meeting of the district being held at Troy yesterday and today.

Although still surrounded by scaffolding for major repairs in progress, representatives of the Ohio Historical Society reported to area residents that the opening of the Johnston Farm north of Piqua to the public will probably be late June or early in July 1969. The outside brick walls are completed and the shingle roof on. Still to be added is the wrought iron railing for the widow’s walk. When the window frames are in place the workman will start on the interior which will be heated by electricity carefully hidden to keep the house’s antique character.

John Whitman was elected as president of the new art interest group being formed in Sidney. As yet unnamed the Sidney group is dedicated to the culture of art and painting. Mrs. James Borchers was elected vice president and Mrs. James Lonsway is the treasurer.

Lunch is served two ways at the Harvest House restaurant in the Econo Lodge-with Rush Limbaugh or without. The local establishment is one of a growing number nationwide to feature a “Rush Room”, where the faithful can dine without missing the conservative talk show host’s mid-day radio show. The lounge, located off the foyer, is a haven for diehard fan-or in Limbaugh lingo, dittoheads-Monday thru Friday between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. That’s when the talk show host, headquartered in New York City, rails on and on about falling interest rates, inflation, the spreading crises of liberalism and the failures of the current administration headed up by Bill Clinton.”Some local Democrats were rather vociferous in stating their opinions”. “To put it more simply, they hated Limbaugh and claimed his program ruined their appetite. This problem was solved by putting the Limbaugh fans in a separate room, and piping just elevator music to the main dining room.
