Firefighters battle house fire

SIDNEY — At 9:40 p.m. on March 26, 2019, Sidney firefighters were dispatched to 106 N. Pomeroy for a reported structure fire.

On arrival, the structure is a two story, single family residence with heavy smoke coming from two second floor windows.

Firefighters confirmed that all occupants were out of the home and determined that the fire was located in a second floor room.

The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.

The total loss to the property is estimated at $25,000 and to contents $5,000.

A Box Alarm was dispatched to recall all off duty Sidney firefighters as well as Anna Fire Department, Lockington Fire Department and Perry Port Salem Rescue Squad.

Vectren was called to the scene to secure the gas and DP&L to secure the power.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

While on this scene the department received another call for a second structure fire and units responded from this incident to the second incident at 223 N. Walnut St.
