To the editor:

I am writing to show my support of the .3 percent municipal taxable income levy on May 7. Sidney Fire and rescue call volume are up over 4000 calls a year. When it comes to serious health issues, every minute counts. Hospitals everywhere closely monitor their door to EKG time for heart attack and CAT scan for strokes. Every minute lost can mean heart muscle or brain lost. Having a satellite fire/rescue station in the northern side of Sidney will ensure faster response times for our citizens saving these valuable minutes.

We all know the frustrations of pot holes and street conditions. These things cannot be repaired without funding. The average life of a street is only eight to 10 years so we must continually reinvest in our infrastructure.

Please vote Yes May 7.
