WAPAKONETA – The 167th Auglaize County Fair, to be held from July 26 to Aug. 3, is called “The Family Fair” by its organizers because it is a one-stop destination with activities for everyone from the little ones to the eldest. The event has great food, fun games and activities, friendly competition, and animals of all shapes and sizes.

New this year Cincinnati Circus, which will thrill audiences with their daring acrobatics. Their act will be located near the east fairgrounds gate.
Also new this year is a mobile glass studio from Mount Juliet, Tennessee. From Sunday to Tuesday they will show spectators how lowly sand and fiery temperatures become works of art in glass. Following them from Wednesday to the last day of the fair will be the Bear Hollow Wood Carvers.
The School Pride Rock Auction is another new event that allows student groups from several area schools to see whose School Pride rock is the best. Half the proceeds raised will go to each of their schools.
The kids will be happy to know the new rides concession, Amusements of America, has more rides, no downtime and all day ride bands for $15. The rides run from 1 to 11 p.m. Individual ride tickets are also available for purchase.
Each day provides something different.
July 26 is the day the Junior and Senior Fairs set up, with exhibitions from livestock to vegetables to sewing arts ready to be judged.
On Saturday, July 27, weigh-ins will be done for lambs, goats, hogs, poultry and steer.
Sunday, July 28, is Ladies Night out in the Gardens in the Entertainment tent with music by Paul Rosewood. The Gospel tent will feature Legacy 5.The Grandstand show is the 2019 National Champion 40-inch Pony Pull from 4 and 6 p.m.
Senior Day is Monday, July 29. Seniors 55 and over will have a reduced admission rate of $5, Starting at noon, seniors will have lunch, followed by 12:30 bingo, and at 2 p.m. there will be live entertainment. At the grandstand, the king and king coronation will be held at 6:30 p.m., with the Cheerleading Competition at 7 p.m. In the Entertainment Tent there is a Kiddie Tractor Pull Event starting at 7 p.m. The Gospel Tent has the group Gold City starting at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, July 30, is Kids Day, and they can find fun activities from noon to 4 p.m. at the “Get Active At the Fair” event with archery, yard games, arts and grafts, superheroes and more. Sponsored by the Y, Danone North America and Alan Davis Insurance.
Also on Tuesday, harness racing at the grandstand starts at 6:30 p.m. The entertainment tentwill have the I-Heart Radio Talent Showcase 7 to 10 p.m. In the gospel tent, The Guardians start at 7:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 31, T-102’s Rowdy Ron Happy Hour will go from 6 to 8 p.m and Rust Belt Pilgrim 7 to 11 p.m. At thegospel tent The Browns start at 7:30 p.m. Those will school spirit will want to attend the School Rock Auction at 8 p.m.
Veterans will be admitted free on Thursday, Aug. 1, with a Veteran’s Day program in the entertainment tent at 6 p.m. At the grandstand will be the ever popular Demo Derby which starts at 7:30 p.m. The gospel tent will feature The Hoppers at 7:30 p.m. and the band Karma’s Pawn 8 to 11 p.m.
On Friday, Aug. 2, the grandstand will feature the A-Bar Rodeo/Bull Riding starting at 7 p.m., the gospel tent will have Soul’d Out Quartet at 7:30 p.m. and the entertainment tent hosts Hill Billy Way 8 to 11 p.m. The junior fair sale of steer, rabbits and goats begins at 9 a.m.
On Saturday, Aug. 3 the Lucas Oil Tractor Pull starts at 7 p.m. in the grandstand. The gospel tent has the The Isaacs starting at 6 p.m. The entertainment tent will have the T-102 Country Star Playoffs from 3 to 7 p.m., and the band Another Round 8 to 11:30 p.m.
The second day of the junior fair livestock show begins at 9 a.m. Saturday. The order of the sale is poultry, hogs, sheep and dairy milk.
