JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center Schools’ annual Spelling Bee was held on Dec. 19, 2019. Seventy–one students in grades 4 through 8 participated.

After several exciting word volleys, the bee was won by eighth-grade student Riley Barhorst, daughter of Chris and Amanda Barhorst. The first runner-up was eighth-grade student Lucas Hartle, son of Jason and Shannon Hartle, and the second runner-up was seventh-grade student Kathryn Prenger, daughter of Jason and Sarah Prenger.

Riley will represent Jackson Center at the Regional Spelling Bee to be held in March, at the Lima Masonic Center. The faculty and staff at Jackson Center schools congratulates the winners and all students who participated.
