WAPAKONETA — In the midst of celebrating their 50th anniversary, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum announces another giant leap for the organization, a brand-new endowment fund. Created for supporting museum operations, the Heinrich Family Foundation Endowment will act as an additional source of funding in perpetuity, improving the organization’s long-term financial strength.

“Our organization has been taking considerable steps in the past few years to solidify our long-term financial health and stability.” says Dante Centuori, executive director of the museum. “Establishing an endowment is an important strategy that sets aside funds for the future and will be the distinguishing hallmark of our financial sustainability.”

The endowment is named to honor the work and legacy of James Heinrich, one of the founding members of the Armstrong Air & Space Museum Association and the association treasurer for many years. Heinrich continued to serve on the board until recently, stepping down to enjoy his retirement last December.

“When looking at naming this endowment, our Board of Directors knew we wanted to pay tribute to the instrumental work Mr. Heinrich contributed to the museum on a fiscal level. His work as treasurer during the association’s inception allowed us to get off the ground and thrive as an operating entity,” says Dan Graf, Armstrong Air & Space Museum Association interim president.

Since the Heinrich Family Foundation’s initial gift, the endowment has reached over $40,000 and growing. Monetary gifts are currently being accepted for the endowment.
