The Auglaize County 175th anniversary postmark will be available until April 14 at any post office in Auglaize County.

WAPAKONETA — The Auglaize County 175th Anniversary Committee has announced that local residents may still obtain the official anniversary postmark-for non-mailing uses only-until April 14.

The postmark, designed by Wapakoneta Middle School sixth-grader Ashtyn Kohler, is available for hand cancellation at any of the nine post offices in the county. Each postmark will denote the specific community in which the cancellation occurred. The postmark will be a memento only, not used for mailing (because it bears the Feb. 14 date). Residents may take in an envelope, a piece of paper, etc., for the special hand cancellation.

The volunteer members of the 175th committee include Rachel Barber, Lori Bellman, Genevieve Conradi, Dennis Dicke, Luann Everett, Dennis Gaertner, Don Harrod, Jim Lee, Esther Leffel, Edee Marshall, Mary Mathews, Sharon Schnell, Jeanne Shaw, Marilyn Shaw, Lisa Watercutter and Charisse Zuppardo. The committee members have met monthly since mid-2021 to plan the milestone anniversary.
